Farms and zoos in Warrington

Questions parents ask

Does the Children's Zoo work in bad weather?

Yes, it's open in all weathers come rain or shine, and the occasional snow. The animals are always happy to welcome you regardless of the forecast.

Can I manage the Children's Zoo with a buggy and children of different ages?

We haven't confirmed whether buggies are practical here. The venue suits all age bands from babies to teens, but you may want to contact them about buggy access before your visit.

How long should we allow for a visit?

Typical visit duration isn't recorded, so it depends on how much time you want to spend with each animal. Many families combine it with other attractions at Walton Hall and Gardens, including the gardens, adventure golf, or children's playground.

Is there somewhere to eat, or should we bring a picnic?

There is a Heritage Café at Walton Hall and Gardens. However, we haven't confirmed whether it's accessible from the Children's Zoo itself, so you may want to check before visiting.

Is there anywhere to eat?

Hope's Rest serves hot and cold drinks, and a cake selection is available on site.

How long should we allow for a visit?

The page does not state a typical visit length, so this depends on how long you and your children want to spend watching and learning about the birds.

Does bad weather affect opening?

The centre can close due to adverse weather conditions, so check social media before you travel to confirm it is open.
