What’s there
- Café on site
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
A not-for-profit rescue and education centre where families can get close to owls, hawks, falcons and eagles on a business park site at Risley. The centre is run with the help of volunteers and the birds' welfare is at the heart of the visit, so staff are usually glad to spend time talking about the birds. Alongside the aviaries there is an outdoor flying area, a large lawn where falcons and hawks are shown, an education centre and a rehabilitation area. The site also keeps ferrets and raccoons. A small cafe serves hot drinks and cakes, and there is a gift shop. It suits children who enjoy animals and older visitors who want to learn about raptor conservation and rescue work.
Questions parents ask
- Is there anywhere to eat?
- Hope's Rest serves hot and cold drinks, and a cake selection is available on site.
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- The page does not state a typical visit length, so this depends on how long you and your children want to spend watching and learning about the birds.
- Does bad weather affect opening?
- The centre can close due to adverse weather conditions, so check social media before you travel to confirm it is open.
