Mini Days Out

Terms of use

Last updated 18 July 2026

By using Mini Days Outyou’re agreeing to what’s below. We’ve kept it short and readable, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

The one that actually matters: opening times, prices and facilities change constantly, and we are not the venue. Always check with the venue before you set off— especially for a long drive, a birthday, or anything you can’t easily redo.

1. What this service is

Mini Days Out is a directory of days out with children across the UK. We gather information about venues — what they are, roughly what they cost, who they suit, when they’re open — and organise it so you can find something to do. It’s free to use.

We are not the venue operator, and we do not sell tickets. We don’t take your booking, your money, or responsibility for your day. When you book, you’re contracting with the venue or the booking platform — their terms, their refund policy, their customer service. We may earn a commission on that booking; see our affiliate disclosure.

2. Listing information is provided in good faith

We compile listings from venue websites, published sources and visitor reports, and we correct them when we learn they’re wrong. But:

  • A venue can change its hours, prices or closures without telling anyone, and often does.
  • Seasonal opening, bank holidays and weather closures move constantly.
  • Accessibility details, parking and baby-changing facilities are the ones most often out of date — and the ones it hurts most to get wrong. Ring ahead if it matters to your visit.

So: the information here is offered in good faith and without warranty that it’s complete or current. Treat it as a very good starting point, not as a guarantee. Tell us if you spot something wrong — it genuinely helps every parent who looks at that page after you.

3. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • Scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy the directory. There’s a documented API if you want the data — ask us.
  • Try to break, overload or probe the site, or get at anyone else’s account.
  • Post anything unlawful, abusive, or designed to mislead.
  • Impersonate a venue, an owner, or another person.
  • Use the site to advertise without asking us first.

We may suspend or remove an account that does any of this, and we’ll cooperate with the police where we’re required to.

4. Reviews

Reviews are the best thing on this site and we want lots of them. In exchange, some rules — most of which come down to “it happened to you, and it’s about the venue”.

  • Write about your own visit. Not hearsay, not a competitor, not a place you’ve never been.
  • Keep it truthful.A statement of fact about a named business that isn’t true and damages them is defamation under the Defamation Act 2013, and that’s your liability as the author. “The queue took an hour and my kids were miserable” is honest opinion and fine. “They’re running a fraud” had better be provable.
  • No personal data about children. No names, no schools, no photographs of identifiable children, no anything that could pin a specific child to a specific place and time. This is why we ask for an age band and a month rather than an exact age and date.
  • No naming individual staff members, and no contact details — yours or anyone else’s.
  • Nothing paid for. If a venue gave you free entry in exchange for a review, say so in the review.

Every review goes through moderation before it appears, and we may edit or remove any review, at our discretion— for breaching the above, or because it was reported to us and we’ve looked at it. Venue owners can claim their listing and reply. If you believe a review about your business is unlawful, write to us at [email protected] with the URL and what specifically is untrue, and we’ll deal with it under our takedown process.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, display and reproduce it on the site and in related promotion.

5. Intellectual property

The design, the branding, the written descriptions, the category structure and the compiled database are ours, protected by copyright and database right. You’re very welcome to link to us, quote a sentence or two with credit, or share a listing. You’re not welcome to lift the descriptions wholesale or rebuild the directory elsewhere.

Venue names, logos and trade marks belong to their owners and appear here for identification. Photographs are used under licence, with the licence and credit recorded against each image. If you own an image you believe is used here wrongly, email us and we’ll take it down while we check — we won’t argue first.

6. Limitation of liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says can’t be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected. With that said:

  • The site is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors.
  • We’re not liable for what happens at a venue, for a venue being shut, priced differently or not as described, or for a booking made with a third party.
  • We’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss — a wasted journey, a ruined afternoon, non-refundable travel.
  • Reviews are the opinions of the parents who wrote them, not ours, and not endorsements.

7. Accounts

You sign in with Google; keep that account secure, because anything done through it is treated as done by you. You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless we’re legally prevented from doing so.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and if a change is significant we’ll flag it on the site rather than hoping you notice.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
