What’s there

  • Dogs welcome

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Brixham Heritage Museum sits in the former police station on New Road in the fishing town of Brixham on the South Devon coast. Its two public floors hold a large collection of local objects, including fishing nets, boats and maritime models, plus military finds from the Napoleonic forts at Berry Head. A reconstructed Victorian parlour and nursery, a 1902 police cell and a fisherman's cottage recreation give younger visitors something to explore up close, and there are displays on the Brixham bone caverns and the town's geology. The museum runs activities for families and an education programme for school groups. It is a small, volunteer-run museum, so a visit suits a relaxed hour or so rather than a full day, and it works well as a rainy-afternoon stop near the harbour. Entry is free, with donations welcomed.
