A family-friendly museum in Bury that traces how people and goods travelled across the North West through the twentieth century. Inside the restored goods warehouse, visitors find full-size cars, buses, trucks, trains and a steam roller, along with a horse-drawn tram and plenty of hands-on displays to touch and explore. There are period costumes for dressing up and interactive activities that keep younger visitors busy, and the museum sits just across the road from the station, making it a natural stop for anyone riding the heritage railway. During school holidays drop-in craft workshops run alongside special events, and the museum also welcomes school group visits. It suits a half-day outing, works well in wet weather because it is indoors, and is a practical choice for grandparents and children travelling together.
