Greenway House is the former holiday home of the crime writer Agatha Christie, a Georgian house on a wooded slope above the River Dart in south Devon. The National Trust looks after it and keeps the rooms furnished much as the family left them, so visitors can wander through the drawing room, Agatha's bedroom and the library, which holds a large book collection and a wartime painted frieze. Older children who enjoy stories and mysteries tend to get the most from the visit, and the boathouse, which appears in one of her novels, is a short walk from the house. The grounds have garden areas and paths through woodland down towards the river, where river wildlife can be seen on the foreshore. A barn cafe, a shop and a second-hand bookshop are on site, and dogs on leads are welcome in the garden and cafe.
