A small museum run by volunteers from the Dartmoor Railway Association, housed in two rooms at the far end of Platform 2 at Okehampton station. It is dedicated to a former station manager who helped keep the Okehampton line open, and it shows artefacts, photographs and documents about the railway in and around the town, including Meldon Quarry and Meldon Viaduct. Visitors can see old station fittings and signalling items, and the displays suit children interested in trains and local history. Admission is free. Because it depends on volunteer availability, it is open mainly on Wednesday and Saturday mornings and afternoons, so families should check before travelling. The museum sits alongside an operating station, which gives a day out a railway setting of its own.
