The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway is a heritage steam railway on Exmoor in North Devon - the only steam railway in the UK where passengers travel in Victorian carriages designed in the 1890s. Trains run from Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane and back, a two-mile round trip taking around 20 minutes, and children under 14 ride completely free (family ticket covers 2 adults and up to 3 young people). Tickets can be pre-booked online or bought on the day from the Station Shop, and are open tickets valid for unlimited 3rd class travel on the day. The station site has a free car park, toilets, the Station Tea Rooms and a shop, with well-behaved dogs welcome on board. Access to the station, shop, toilets and parking is free - you only pay for the train ride. The railway is being rebuilt towards Lynton and Barnstaple, with trains currently operating between Woody Bay and Killington Lane to a seasonal timetable - always check the online timetable for running days.

Runs to a seasonal calendar of running days - trains operate on selected days spring to autumn plus October half-term, Christmas, New Year and Santa specials, with some days Closed; exact dates and departure times are published on the running-days calendar (lynton-rail.co.uk/calendar).
