Kents Cavern is one of Britain's best show caves and one of Europe's most important Stone Age sites, where the UK's oldest human fossil was found. Families can join a guided tour of the 400-million-year-old limestone cave labyrinth (tours run hourly and last just under an hour, including a moment of total darkness), explore the indoor interactive Stone Age Zone with archaeology digs and real artefacts, then head outdoors to the Woodland Trail for the Prehistoric Animal Hunt, Palaeo Trail and shelter building. On site there is the Firestone Kitchen cafe, a gift shop and free parking, and the caves stay at a constant 14 degrees all year round.

Open all year round; closed on certain days over Christmas. Seasonal events include the Age of the Dinosaurs exhibition (until 31 Oct 2026, included with admission) and Cave Cinema evenings.
