- Limited parking
A small car park is opposite the museum, another is in front of the station, and a third is about 5 minutes away on the A379 towards Dawlish.
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
The Teign Heritage Centre is a museum on the edge of Teignmouth town centre, a short walk from the seafront and opposite the railway station. It houses the Teignmouth and Shaldon Museum, with two permanent galleries, the Sea Gallery and the Shore Gallery, that tell the story of the people and the coastline of the two towns. Displays include a restored Victorian bathing machine and a 16th century wreck recovered from the local coast, which give younger visitors something concrete to look at and ask about. The centre also holds talks and events through the year. It suits a rainy afternoon or a break between beach visits, and it is a manageable visit for a short attention span. Opening days are limited, so check before travelling.
