A small, volunteer-run museum housed in the old railway station building on the Dartmoor edge of Bovey Tracey. Its collection covers the town's story from medieval origins to the present day, with changing displays on the world wars, the local pottery industry, the granite tramway, mining, farming and the railway. Younger visitors have their own activity desk, and the centre is an easy stop for children curious about old trains, including a restored Great Western Railway brake van in the car park and a remains of an 18th-century salt-glazed pottery kiln. Entry is free, and there is a small gift shop selling local books and crafts. School visits can be arranged around current topics, and group visits are taken by appointment. It works well as a rainy-day stop or as a break during a walk on the local heritage trail.
Seasonal: open Easter to end of October only.
