Facilities
We haven’t checked this venue’s facilities yet. Give them a ring if something specific matters for your visit.
South Molton Museum sits on the ground floor of the historic Guildhall on the town square, and tells the social history of this North Devon market town and the surrounding countryside. Families can see a 1736 fire engine, a penny-farthing bicycle, an 18th-century cider press, local archaeological finds, farming implements and Victorian household items. Displays are arranged around everyday life, trades and farming, so there is plenty to talk about with older children. The museum offers a quiz for children to do while the adults browse, and a free leaflet guides visitors round the collections. Admission is free, with a donation welcomed. Assistance dogs are welcome, but other animals are not allowed inside. The museum is small, so a visit suits a relaxed hour or so rather than a full day out.
