No museum car park. The museum's visitor page names town car parks (Creek, Shadycombe Road, Whitestrand) and a park-and-ride from the A381 in summer. Public toilets are in Whitestrand Car Park, as the museum has none.
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
A small, friendly museum on one level beneath the Salcombe Tourist Information Centre, in the town's Old Council Hall. Its collection of models, paintings, photographs and tools traces the town's links with ships and the sea, from ancient times to the Second World War, and includes a gallery of paintings of the 19th-century fruit schooners built in Salcombe. Children have a Young Sailors' Corner with hands-on displays, models and a pirate treasure theme, and the Wreck Room shows finds recovered from shipwrecks along the coast. It suits a relaxed visit on a family day in a seaside town, and entry is free. Volunteers run the museum, so opening can vary and is worth checking before a special trip.
Seasonal opening, roughly end of March to end of October, with a winter closure.
