The Cart and Wagon Shed is a heritage and community space in Shoeburyness on the Essex coast, housed in a Grade II listed military building dating from around 1860. Its display hall holds historic artefacts and documents about the history of Shoeburyness, and it highlights local points of interest and suggested walking routes. Families can pick up a free Family Heritage Trail map with an activity sheet aimed at explorers of all ages. The building sits within Gunners Park and the historic Shoebury Garrison, so it works well as a base for a walk around the nearby monuments and open green space. A café is on site, and there are toilets and a free council car park opposite. Being a small local museum, it suits a relaxed visit rather than a long day out.
