Facilities
We haven’t checked this venue’s facilities yet. Give them a ring if something specific matters for your visit.
The East Anglian Railway Museum sits on a working station site of more than ten acres, with Victorian station buildings, signal boxes, a goods shed and a restoration shed where volunteers work on the collection. Families can wander the platforms, climb into historic carriages and look over steam and diesel locomotives. The museum runs special event days through the year, and on some of these a steam train gives unlimited rides in vintage wagons and carriages, which children tend to enjoy most. A miniature railway also runs on many event days. Visits suit train-mad children, curious older children and grown-ups alike, and a typical visit fills a couple of hours. The museum is run by volunteers as a registered charity, so opening is mainly at weekends and on Wednesdays, with more days on event calendar.
