A compact museum in the Grade II listed Guildhall on the High Street of Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey. It traces the town's story from its Saxon beginnings and medieval royal castle through to its Victorian industrial past and its role as a base for minesweeping vessels in the Second World War. Displays include hundreds of photographs, documents, medals, coins and models, including a model of the Richard Montgomery ship. Children can ring a ship's bell, have a go at a colouring station and a quiz, and look inside the old prison cell. Upstairs the original council chamber can be viewed, with its portraits of former mayors. The museum is run by volunteers and suits families with older children and adults who enjoy local history. Visits are short and the rooms are small, so it works best as a rainy afternoon or a stop on a wider local heritage trail.

Open Saturdays in the April to October season only, per the venue's site.
