Belmont is a Georgian country house on a wider estate in the Kent countryside, a short drive from Faversham. Inside, visitors can see an armoury, a set of Cazabon paintings and a large clock collection, and the house is reached by guided tours or self-guided visits on selected afternoons. The grounds cover a walled garden, a pinetum, wooded areas, formal lawns and a large kitchen garden with fruit trees and vegetables. Dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds. Seasonal workshops, garden tours and events are run through the year, and the house and gardens are closed for the 2026 season and due to reopen at Easter 2027.

Questions parents ask
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- A typical visit lasts around 2 hours. This gives you time to explore the gardens and, if the house is open for tours on your visit day, to see inside as well.
- Is there anywhere to eat?
- The Orangery Tea Room is currently closed for the season. We haven't confirmed whether there's a picnic area, so you may want to bring your own food or check ahead about reopening plans.
- Can we manage this with a buggy and children of different ages?
- Belmont covers over 3,000 acres with woodland walks and formal gardens. We haven't confirmed whether buggies are practical throughout, so it's worth contacting the venue before your visit if you have a toddler you plan to push.
- Does it work in bad weather?
- Much of the visit is outdoors in the gardens and woodland. The house itself is open for tours on certain days, which would offer shelter, but rain may limit what you can explore comfortably.
