The museum has no car park of its own. Shellons Street Car Park, a short walk away, has two accessible spaces; the rear entrance is about 30 metres from it. No drop-off space outside the museum.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Folkestone Museum occupies the restored Town Hall and tells the story of the town across themed galleries, from prehistoric fossils and Roman and Saxon finds through to maritime history, the Victorian seaside resort years and the two World Wars. Families tend to enjoy the interactive displays, and the museum runs family activity days and workshops through the year, with a temporary exhibition space on the lower ground floor. Visitor reviews on the museum's own site describe it as a good fit for children as well as adults. Sensory backpacks with ear defenders and fidget items can be borrowed from reception, and the museum publishes quieter visiting windows for less busy times. A small gift shop sells children's gifts and books. The building has a lift between its two floors, and it is a short walk from the town centre, the bus station and the harbour.
