The Carriage Works Museum, run by the volunteer Vintage Carriages Trust, is a railway heritage museum beside Ingrow station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Its collection of restored carriages, dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, includes coaches used in several television and film productions, including adaptations of The Railway Children, so families may recognise them from the screen. Children can climb aboard and sit in the compartments, while sound and video presentations, posters, signs and small exhibits explain how travel changed over the years. Volunteers are often seen repairing and restoring carriages. Combined tickets with the steam railway and the neighbouring engine shed make a fuller day out. The museum has a small shop selling drinks, ice cream and sweets alongside railway souvenirs, and it is an easy, compact visit for families with younger children.
