Bramham Park is a historic estate between Leeds and Wetherby, built around a classical house from 1698 and laid out with formal gardens, avenues and garden follies across a large landscaped park. For families it works as a slower, outdoor day: walks along the avenues, looking for the follies and monuments, and space to picnic on the grounds. Older children with an interest in history or architecture may enjoy the house, which is shown on pre-booked group tours. The estate is still a working farm and hosts large events, including an international horse trials and a music festival, so the gardens can be closed on some dates. Visits to the gardens are by appointment on weekdays, so families should book ahead before travelling.
