Wellwood is the home of Irvine Burns Club, founded in 1826 and one of the longest continuously active Burns clubs in the world. The museum occupies Wellwood House on Eglinton Street in Irvine and shows painted murals in the Burns Room, original manuscripts, early printed editions of the poems, paintings and an audio-visual presentation about Burns's time in Irvine. The building also holds a large library and a concert room. It suits older children with an interest in history, literature or local heritage. The club runs half-day visits for primary school pupils in January and February, a verse-speaking competition for local primary schools, and a set of Burns games aimed at younger visitors. Visits are arranged in advance, and the venue's own site offers a personal tour booking option.

Open afternoons only on the pattern given in hoursNote; school visits run in January and February.
