The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, Ayr, is run by the National Trust for Scotland and tells the story of Scotland's national bard. The museum houses an extensive collection of Burns manuscripts, objects and personal effects alongside interactive exhibits. Visitors can also explore Burns Cottage, the thatched cottage where Robert Burns was born in 1759, and the surrounding gardens and monument.
