West Kilbride Museum is a small local history museum upstairs in the village hall, telling the story of the parish over roughly four centuries. Displays draw on donations from village families and include Victorian parlour and kitchen settings, old farming implements, a hand loom, a birds' egg collection, toys and dolls, sports trophies, maps and photographs. There are military records and books of remembrance from the two World Wars, and the displays change regularly, so repeat visits bring something new. Visitors on the coast-road trip often combine it with a walk in the nearby Kirktonhall Glen or a stop at the Barony Centre on Main Street. It suits children who enjoy old objects, dressing-up era rooms and local stories, and volunteers are known to be happy to answer children's questions. The first-floor location has no lift, which families with pushchairs or limited mobility should bear in mind before going.
