Turner Contemporary is a free contemporary art gallery on Margate's seafront, designed by Sir David Chipperfield. The gallery presents world-class exhibitions throughout the year and is one of the UK's leading contemporary art spaces. Beyond exhibitions, the venue offers creative workshops, learning programmes, and community events. Louie On Sea, the on-site café and restaurant, operates by day with chef residencies and aperitivo events. The gallery also runs an environmental programming combining art and community partnerships focused on climate action.
Summer (Apr-Oct): Tue-Sun 11am-5pm. Winter (Nov-Mar): Wed-Sun 11am-5pm. Open bank holidays. Parts of the gallery may close during exhibition changeovers (announced on homepage).
