Dover Castle sits high on the White Cliffs with the Great Tower at its heart, where you can see the lavish interiors Henry II's craftsmen created for medieval royal life. The Siege Play Area lets children defend the castle, and there's a new interactive exhibition about the 1216–17 siege. You can visit the viewpoint for panoramic views, watch uniformed volunteers fire a First World War 3-inch gun from the fire command post on Saturday afternoons, and eat at cafés around the site. The Secret Wartime Tunnels are currently closed for maintenance.
