Lynton Toy Museum and Shop is a small independent museum in the twin village of Lynton, on the North Devon coast within Exmoor National Park. The museum is spread over two floors and shows toys, games and action figures from roughly the 1960s to the 1980s, including Star Wars figures, Sindy dolls and vintage board games. The collection has been built up over many years by its owners and is displayed in cabinets that are easy to walk round at a child's pace. Entry is through the shop, which sells secondhand and vintage toys alongside some newer toys for younger visitors. It suits a family stop with older children who enjoy retro toys, and it is a short walk from the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, making it a good indoor option on a wet day in a busy holiday village.

Questions parents ask

Is Lynton Toy Museum easy to get round with a buggy and young children?
We haven't confirmed whether the museum is buggy-friendly or step-free, so contact them before visiting if you're planning to bring a toddler in a buggy or have mobility concerns.
How long should we allow for a visit?
The page doesn't specify a typical visit length. Since the museum has two floors of displays, allow at least an hour, though this depends on how much time you spend looking at each toy and whether children want to browse the shop.
Is there somewhere to eat at Lynton Toy Museum?
We haven't confirmed whether there's a café or refreshment facility here, so check with them or plan to eat elsewhere in Lynton.
Does it work well on a rainy day?
Yes—the museum is entirely indoors across two floors, making it a good option when the weather is poor.
