Otterton Mill

Otterton Mill sits beside the River Otter in a village near Budleigh Salterton and makes a relaxed day out for families. The historic watermill is open for public viewing, with a self-guided tour, a working water wheel and millers who are happy to explain how flour is made. Outside, flat riverside paths lead towards the South West Coast Path and the heathland of Woodbury Common, and wildlife such as kingfishers, herons and otters is often spotted along the water. There is a café-restaurant with a relaxed menu, a farm shop and bakery, a gallery and craft centre, and an orchard picnic area. Dogs on leads are welcome outside and in parts of the café. The site also hosts free themed events through the year and live music gigs in the courtyard during summer.
