Crampton Tower Museum is a small museum housed partly in a flint tower that once formed part of Broadstairs' first public water supply. It tells the story of Thomas Russell Crampton, the locally born Victorian engineer known for locomotive and railway design and for early submarine telegraph cable work. Exhibits cover the railway's impact on the town, local maritime history and the growth of Broadstairs as a seaside resort. The visit is compact, so it suits a rainy afternoon or a short stop between the beach and the high street, and children with an interest in trains and engineering tend to enjoy it. The museum also runs themed family events, including a Christmas visit with a small gauge railway, and its small shop sells pre-loved models and second-hand books. Opening is limited to certain afternoons in the summer and autumn, so check before travelling.
