Lashenden Air Warfare Museum is based on Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent and has been open to visitors since the early 1970s. Its collection covers aviation and military history, with a restored wartime flying bomb and a gyro-kite among the aircraft on show, plus displays of wreckage and a restored airfield defence fort that visitors can look into. Exhibits are housed in a couple of buildings, and a large collection of British, German and American uniforms and flying suits is on display. The site suits families with older children and history enthusiasts, while younger children often enjoy seeing the aircraft up close. Schools and other groups can arrange weekday visits.
