Facilities

Fochabers Folk Museum sits in a former church on the High Street of this Moray village and is run by the Fochabers Heritage charity. Its main draw is a collection of carriages and gigs displayed under the old roof, alongside everyday objects that show how people in the north-east of Scotland lived and worked in the 18th to 20th centuries. Children often enjoy Milne's schoolroom, a recreated classroom that celebrates Alexander Milne, who founded the local free school. A separate exhibition covers RAF Dallachy, the wartime airfield nearby, and there is a photograph archive of local residents past and present. The museum is compact, so a visit suits a relaxed hour or so, and it pairs well with a walk around the village. Opening is seasonal and mostly on weekday afternoons and weekends, so check before travelling.

Opening stated for Easter 2026 on the official contact page; confirm the season has started before visiting.
