Access & inclusion

  • Step-free access

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

A small museum of railway relics tucked inside the shop at Norchard Station, the main base of the Dean Forest Railway heritage line. It focuses on the local lines of the Forest of Dean and the Severn and Wye railway, with old signs, tickets, uniforms and equipment on show, plus a display of vintage telephone exchange equipment that children often find fascinating. The museum sits on the ground floor, so it suits buggies and wheelchair users as well as older visitors. You do not need a train ticket to look round, which makes it an easy add-on before or after a steam or diesel ride. Visitors can also browse the railway shop and watch the trains come and go from the station platforms.
