A family day out in a converted 17th-century watermill in the village centre of Bourton-on-the-Water. Seven galleries cover twentieth-century motoring, with vintage cars, motorcycles, caravans, enamel signs and a History of Motoring exhibition. The toy collection is a particular draw for younger visitors and includes pedal cars, tricycles, toy cars, buses and aeroplanes. Many children also know the museum from the television series Brum, whose opening and closing sequences were set here, and the character remains a favourite with visitors. Adults who enjoy classic cars will find plenty to look at, so it suits mixed-age groups. The museum has a gift shop, and it runs a soft opening for neurodiverse visitors with SEND bags available. Dogs are welcome. The collection is indoors, so it works as a rainy-day option in the Cotswolds.
