Tyntesfield is a National Trust property on the edge of Bristol: a richly decorated Victorian Gothic Revival country house with a chapel, a large collection of original furnishings and a working Kitchen Garden. Families can explore the house at their own pace, looking out for the quirky details the National Trust points out to children, then head outside to the wider estate. The grounds include a rose garden, terraces, an orangery, woodland walks and a holly-lined path, and there are several play areas for different age groups, including a woodland adventure play area, a den-building village and a sculpture trail. Home Farm has a café in a restored Victorian dairy, a large shop and a second-hand bookshop with a children's corner. The estate is spread over a wide area and some paths are steep or loose underfoot, so it suits families who are happy to walk and let children run about in the open.
