What’s there

  • Paid parking
  • Dogs welcome

No parking on site. National Trust page points visitors to the Darent pay-and-display car park in Westerham, around 80 yards away; coaches also have parking there.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Quebec House is a small 18th-century townhouse on Quebec Square in the village of Westerham, run by the National Trust. It was the childhood home of General James Wolfe, who led British forces at the Battle of Quebec in 1759, and the rooms are presented as a Georgian family home. Self-led visits take place at weekends and on bank holidays, while weekday guided tours are led by volunteers; children are welcome on those tours, although the content is aimed at adults. The compact garden holds 18th-century style planting, including a herb and kitchen garden, and dogs on a short lead are welcome there. The Coach House has a second-hand bookshop and a free exhibition about the Westerham Foundlings, made with the children's charity Coram, which includes love tokens made by today's schoolchildren. The house suits older children interested in history and families after a short, relaxed visit that pairs well with a walk around the village.
