Christmas Tree Farm is a small, friendly children's farm in the village of Downe on the edge of Bromley. Visitors walk around animal enclosures on mostly level tarmac and concrete paths and can buy pots of feed to hand-feed goats, sheep, llamas, donkeys, ponies, cows and pigs, while chickens and ducks wander freely. Smaller animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs are also kept on site. The farm suits younger children and toddlers who want close contact with animals, and works well for a relaxed morning or afternoon. A tea garden and kitchen serve sandwiches, hot dogs, cakes and children's lunch boxes. Birthday parties and group visits are catered for and should be booked ahead. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome. Because the farm is outdoors and weather-dependent, it is worth ringing ahead on wet or snowy days.
