Capel Manor Gardens is a 30-acre family attraction in Enfield, North London, with 40 colourful themed gardens and a mini zoo. Say hello to meerkats, ring-tailed lemurs, Scottish wildcats, Bennett's wallabies, African crested porcupines, Prevost's squirrels and white-faced saki monkeys in the mini zoo, and spot Shetland ponies, alpacas and rare breed sheep grazing in the fields by the Manor House.
Animal experiences led by the mini zoo keepers let families get even closer - from meet-and-greets and alpaca walks to pygmy goat and reptile encounters. Highlights of the gardens include the holly maze, Walled Garden, Old Manor House Garden, Japanese Garden, Fairy Forest woodland walk, Temple Lake and the Cactus House Café.
Open daily in summer (March to October, 10am-5.30pm) and Monday to Friday in winter (November to February, 10am-5pm). Capel Manor Gardens is VisitEngland Quality Assessed and an official Blue Peter Badge attraction. Under-3s go free, and a family ticket covers 2 adults and up to 3 children.
Winter (November-February): open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm (last admission 3.30pm); gardens closed at weekends between November and March.
