Golders Hill Park Zoo is a small zoo inside Golders Hill Park, a formal park on the northwestern edge of Hampstead Heath. It is run by the City of London Corporation and is free to visit whenever the park is open. The collection includes ring-tailed lemurs, red-necked wallabies, kookaburras, fallow deer, donkeys and a range of birds and chickens, so it suits younger children and animal lovers rather than anyone expecting a large zoo. The paths around the zoo are tarmac on a gentle slope. Families can combine a visit with the rest of the park, and the zoo also offers an animal adoption scheme and is working towards a collection focused on British wildlife.
