A family can climb aboard a full-scale reconstruction of the galleon in which Francis Drake sailed around the world in 1577 to 1580. Visitors explore the ship on their own at any time, or join a crew member for a guided walk through the decks and cabins to hear the story of the circumnavigation. The ship is spread over four levels linked by steep stairs and ladders, with low ceilings and narrow passages, so it suits older children more than toddlers. Schools use the ship for one-hour programmes, and there are pirate-themed sessions, an escape room and children's parties aboard. Admission includes an audio guide in English and Spanish. The ship sits beside the Thames close to London Bridge and Shakespeare's Globe, making it an easy addition to a day exploring Bankside.
Summer hours (April to October) run 10:00–18:00.
