Eltham Palace and Gardens pairs a dazzling 1930s art deco mansion with the medieval Great Hall of a royal palace where Henry VIII spent his childhood. Outside, the glorious gardens mix medieval remains with Arts and Crafts planting, and there is a visitor centre with a café, gift shop and a play area for children. English Heritage members get free entry, with up to six children free per adult member.
