St Martin-in-the-Fields is a Church of England parish church on the north-east corner of Trafalgar Square in central London, a short walk from the National Gallery and Charing Cross. Its interior is a classic 18th-century building, and visitors can wander in during opening hours. The main reason a family might go is the London Brass Rubbing Centre in the crypt, where children and adults can make rubbings from replica medieval brasses such as knights, dragons and Tudor figures, using wax crayons and paper at tables. The crypt also has a café and a gift shop, so it is easy to combine a rubbing with a snack. The church hosts concerts, including free lunchtime music, which older children may enjoy. Much of the programme is aimed at adult audiences, so families should check what is on before visiting.

Spring/summer 2026 concert season listed on the homepage; programme changes by season.
