Novelty Automation is a compact indoor arcade in Holborn, central London, a short walk from the tube station. It houses a collection of home-made, satirical coin-operated machines built by the engineer and cartoonist Tim Hunkin, most of them interactive, with cranks to turn, buttons to press and tokens to feed in. Its themes are satirical rather than child-oriented, so it suits visitors who enjoy quirky engineering and dry humour. The venue says it has a maximum capacity and that visitors may have to wait outside at busy times. The space is also available to hire for private parties, including children's parties, and for corporate events.
