The David Brown Tractor Club Museum sits in buildings on the Meltham Mills industrial estate, close to where the David Brown tractor factory once stood. Its collection covers the history of the marque, with a growing set of tractors, implements, prototypes and archive material, and a number of machines that would appeal to children who like things with big wheels. The club shop is on site, and an on-site café serves hot and cold drinks, meals and cakes. A former railway line that ran as the factory's test track is now a walkway through the village, which makes a pleasant stroll after a visit. The museum opens on set Sundays through the year, with a larger tractor weekend in the summer, so families should check the dates before setting out. It suits families with a tractor-mad child, grandparents who worked in the industry, and anyone curious about local manufacturing history.
