Ilkley Toy Museum is a privately owned collection set over several rooms in a town-centre building a short walk from Ilkley station. Visitors can see dolls and dolls' houses, teddy bears, tin-plate and clockwork toys, die-cast vehicles, board games and wooden toys, with a working model fairground from the 1940s and a range of pieces dating back many decades. Children tend to enjoy spotting familiar toys and the rooms are compact, so a visit suits a relaxed hour or so rather than a full day. The museum is also used by school and youth groups, and staff are happy to talk through the collection. Because it is small, it works well as a rainy-afternoon stop alongside a walk in the town or on the moor edge.
