Barrington Court is a National Trust property in the south Somerset countryside, built in the Tudor period and restored in the early twentieth century. Families can explore the formal walled gardens, the kitchen garden, orchards and lily and rose gardens, and walk around the wider estate and parkland. The ground floor of Strode House is open to visitors, while the other main house is closed for a long conservation project. There is a café, a shop in the old farm buildings, a second-hand book barn and craft studios to browse. Dogs on leads are welcome in most of the estate, and the picnic lawns make it easy to make a relaxed day of it. Check the trust's current visitor information before travelling, as opening and access to the house can change.
