We haven’t checked this venue’s facilities yet. Give them a ring if something specific matters for your visit.
The South Somerset Heritage Collection looks after tens of thousands of objects and thousands of photographs that tell the story of Yeovil and the surrounding area. Its strengths include gloves and gloving tools from the local industry, historic costume, fine art, Petter and Westland engineering items, Roman and Neolithic archaeology and a large set of local photographs. Much of the collection is kept in a museum store, so visits have traditionally been arranged in advance rather than taken as a walk-in day out. Families interested in local history, industry or Roman finds may find the objects engaging, and the team has offered school loan boxes with themed object sets. The venue's own site says the building is currently closed to the public while a collections audit takes place, and it has no reopening date at the time of writing, so check before planning a trip.
