What’s there

  • Café on site
  • Free parking

Museum's own free car park, including marked disabled spaces near the entrance; some open days use neighbouring car parks. No bus routes pass close by; free heritage shuttle bus from Rotherham Interchange on open days.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

The South Yorkshire Transport Museum is a volunteer-run charity that tells the story of how the region moved, through a large collection of preserved vehicles. Visitors can see vintage buses, classic cars, motorcycles, bicycles, lorries and commercial vehicles spread across display halls and a mezzanine, with transport memorabilia and interactive exhibits alongside. Many of the vehicles have been restored by volunteers, and some are run out on special days so children can see them moving rather than only standing still. The museum is open on the second Sunday of most months, with themed open days through the year, and it runs a free heritage shuttle bus from Rotherham Interchange on those days. A cafe and gift shop are on site, and the museum is popular with school groups as well as families and enthusiasts.
