Paid parking (East Suffolk Council) via pay & display (coins) or RingGo location 44466. Manor Terrace car park at the north end of the reserve is the best starting point; main car parks at View Point Road serve the Fort, Museum and View Point Cafe. Up to 30 mins free, 2h £2.10, 4h £3.70, 10h £5.20.

Landguard Nature Reserve is a 33-hectare shingle spit on Suffolk's southern coast, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its rare vegetated shingle habitat. It is home to over 600 flora species and supports ground-nesting birds and migrating species. The reserve includes grassland, scrub and 1.5 miles of coastline. Visitors can walk the boardwalk paths, follow the King Charles III England Coast Path, cycle, watch birds from the observatory, or sit on the shingle to spot wildlife including seals. Access for dogs and anglers is restricted from April to the end of July to protect ground-nesting birds. Volunteers can help with conservation work including beach cleaning, bramble-bashing and fence building.
