Clare Castle Country Park is a 36-acre park in the west-Suffolk town of Clare, wrapped around the ruins of a Norman motte-and-bailey castle. Families can climb the 60-foot motte for views over the town, follow riverside, woodland and nature trails, and let children burn off energy in the fully fenced play area with its popular play train. Platform One cafe serves home-made food from the old station booking hall, and the part-time visitor centre tells the story of the castle and the Victorian railway.
