Dallas Dhu is a preserved Victorian malt whisky distillery, run as a living history museum by Historic Environment Scotland and managed on their behalf by a third party. Production ceased in 1983 and the original equipment remains exactly as it was when the doors closed, offering a fascinating step back in time for visitors of all ages.
Guided tours take you through the malt barn, kiln, mash tun, washbacks, still house and bonded warehouses, showing how Scotch whisky was made in the 1900s. Tours run by appointment throughout the year, with a shop on site. The distillery sits on Scotland's Malt Whisky Trail beside the Dava Way.
1 Apr-30 Sep: guided tours by appointment daily 08:00-20:00, shop daily 10:00-18:00. 1 Oct-31 Mar: tours by appointment Tue-Sat 10:00-14:45, shop Mon-Sat 10:00-16:00. Closed over the Christmas and New Year period (tours still available by appointment).
