Jewry Wall Museum reopened to the public in July 2025 after a major redevelopment. A new immersive multimedia exhibition tells the story of Roman Leicester as it was in 160AD, set against the Jewry Wall ruins - one of the tallest surviving pieces of Roman masonry in Britain. The visit begins with a 10-minute immersive experience (timed entry every 15 minutes), then the finest collection of Roman discoveries in the Midlands: mosaics, jewellery, glass, stone and metalwork, with interactive displays, 5 tactile interactives and 13 audio & video pieces. Families can try Roman games and crafts at school-holiday sessions and festivals. Children aged 4 and under go free. Average visit: 2 hours.
